Each IAIME Committee has a different responsibility all aimed at helping the Society pursue its mission to advance the science, prevention, evaluation, and management of disability.
Committee Members typically serve for 2 years. In the last quarter of the calendar year IAIME members at all career levels are solicited to volunteer for their preferred committee.
Examination and Certification Committee
Responsible for the integrity of the Certification Exam, validation of new questions for the exam, oversee scoring of exam,report fellows who have passed exam.
Mid-Year Fundamentals Program Committee
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Mid-Year Program.
2021 Annual Meeting Committee
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Annual Meeting Program.
Bylaws and Ethics Committee
Responsible for proposing changes to the Bylaws as needed, investigate complaints or violations of the principles of Medical Ethics or the Bylaws of the Academy, forward recommendations regarding violations of the principles to the Board.
Ensures that the Academy’s website effectively promotes the mission of IAIME, and provides access to the assets of the Academy to the members. The Committee reviews and define changes to the website as needed to ensure content organization, functionality and relevance (timeliness). The Committee assists with the evaluation and selection of technology to support the education initiatives.
The committee reviews and processes applications for membership and fellowship and then submit its recommendations to the Board of Directors. The committee also makes recommendations of applications for Emeritus Fellows and makes recommendations of changes to the membership and fellowship criteria as needed.
Responsible to identify candidates who are qualified, willing, and able to serve on the Board of Directors, prepare a slate of candidates for the available positions on the Board of Directors. Present the slate to the Fellows prior to the Annual Business Meeting.
